Alaya has been created in a very quick and spontaneus way and gathers my impressions and suggestions derived from the observation of the "tibetan universe" and his spirituality. The meaning of the tibetan word "alaya" is "depot" (for example "Himalaya" is the "snow depot") and in buddhism, particularly the tibetan one, the alaya is conceived as a depot where (on an ideal plane) all physical and mental energies produced in the world are stored. These energies flows in and out from the alaya in a continous and endless cyclical way and, according with the laws of karman, contributes to feed on the never-ending dance of cause-effect. I've worked at the recording of this album without any premeditation and each song, on a creative level, can be considered something similar to an improvisation. The creation of Alaya has been above all a mental and inner experience, a kind of travel which, in idea, starts and finish in the city of Lhasa, passing through the suggestions inspired from the tibetan buddhism and tantric tradition.
